Hello Fall Party

Can you believe it the fall is almost here again! Time to wish summer farewell and welcome in the fall season and all her magic. Once again we will provide the burgers, dogs and chips and dips, if you can bring a small dish to share and BYOB that would be great! We love to see you all and as usual we will have the bouncy house for the kids, make sure to bring bikes, scooters, and such for them since we live on a dead end street. Also make sure to bring sunscreen, some chairs and get ready o have a good time with friends both old and new. If you need directions please comment here or on facebook and I can get them off to you. The party starts at 2pm on Sunday, September 5th.

For those of you wondering how the diet is going we are doing great! In three weeks Pat has lost 16 pounds! It is really simple to follow and pretty stupid proof. He is already feeling better and doesn’t mind it. You still have to deal with cravings and the such but we are not hungry.

Is it hot enough for you? Well, they say the heat wave is over! Let’s hope so since Pat and I are sick of being stuck in the house. Not much to report things are moving along slow and steady. The biggest thing is Pat is on a strict diet, since his accident he has gain some weight. The weight loss should make his life a little better in the future as far as possibly seeing some significant changes. We all know how difficult it is to loss weight being able bodied never mind being stuck in a wheelchair. Well thank you for checking in and I’ll keep you updated on how things are going. Memorial Day BBQ

Hi Everyone,

Don’t forget the summer kick-off BBQ at our house. It is Sunday, May 30th anytime after 12pm going to whenever everyone leaves or we throw you out.

We will supply Burgers, Dogs and chips; please BYOB and if you like a dish of any kind to share.

Things you will need? Chairs, sunscreen and anything else you might want to bring to have a good time (there will be kids here so wait til after hours for the naughty stuff ) We will have a bouncy house for the kids and kids at heart. We also live on a dead end street so if you want bring their bikes or skateboards.

Hi Everyone, Sorry I haven’t posted since Christmas. I hope everyones 2010 is going well and you and your families are healthy and happy. We had a bittersweet anniversary, on Feb 9 it was 3 years since Pat had his accident. I wish I had thought to take videos from the beginning until now because his progress has been incredible from were we started. His upper body has gotten stronger and he has started to get some tricep movement. He can also move his left thumb a tiny bit but it burns out real quick. He is still able to move his left big toe so that there just gives up hope. Right now our biggest obstacle is he needs to lose weight. Hard enough to do when you can be active never mind being stuck in a wheelchair. He has been losing some but still had a lot more to go. I wish I had more information to pass along but this is a very slow recovery. I think once the weight obstacle is passed we will see lots of things from him but we must over come this first. I’ll keep you posted until next time, we love you all and thank you for your support.

As I look back on the year of 2009 and all the changes that have happened I can not help but be thankful. This year like many years past and many more to come has had its share of ups and downs. We have lost some dear friends and loved ones who will always be in our hearts but we have also gained new friends and loved ones. Pat has made some great strides in gaining more movement and gaining more feelings in his limbs. We can only hope that the year of 2010 is kind to us and brings new joy to our world. Happy November

Well it is hard to believe that it is almost Thanksgiving! Pat and I have so much to be thankful for that it almost makes me cry. This year we have had quite a few good things happen in Pat’s recovery! He is able to move his left big toe consistently and has just recently started to move his left thumb very slightly. The other day he pedaled for a mile by himself at JoFo, if you have facebook look me up I posted a video. I tried to post it here but can not, so here is a link to youtube. Labor Day Party

Just want to remind everyone that we are having a Labor Day Party on Sunday, Sept 6th. Arrive anytime after 12pm, it is BYOB and a dish to share. We will provide hot dogs, burgers and chips. Hi Everyone

Just a quick update on Pat, things are going well. He has had a few new sensations and is still wiggling his left toe. This is just such a long process but we keep fighting the fight and we will win the battle. He is still going to Journey Forward currently twice a week for the summer this way we can enjoy the “nice New England” weather. Come the cold we’ll start going 3 days a week again. We are currently working on getting an FES Bike for Pat. What that does is send electrical stimulation into the muscle groups and cause him to pedal.

I also want to let everyone know that we are having a Labor Day party at our house on Sunday, Sept. 6 Please come and bring the kids. It is BYOB, we will supply hot dogs, burgers and chips please feel free to bring anything else you want to throw on the grill. Also we will have a bouncy house for the kids so it will help keep them busy. Bring chairs, sunscreen, things for the kids to do (ie bikes, skateboards etc., we live on a dead end road) and get ready to have fun hanging out and relaxing with new and old friends!

Hi Everyone,

Not much to report and update. Everything is status quo and moving along. Pat is doing well and has had small gains but nothing major. I have to keep telling him that it is these small things that add up and turn into big changes. Just want to remind everyone that we are always up for visitors so if you have some time off and would like to visit just let me know.
