Pat is still recovering from a tough couple weeks with his shoulders still bothering him. They have taped up his shoulders to try and stretch the muscles. The taping is working and he is starting to get some of his range of motion in the shoulders back.

As for the house we are closer but still no progress. Meeting with the contractor today, so hopefully we will be starting by the end of the week. Just so everyone can see this is what the outside of the house looks like now. The plan is to push the garage further out into the driveway so instead of the house being “L”shaped it will be “U”shaped with a patio and curved ramp leading from the drive way to the front door. Here is a picture of my house as it is today and the current 2 car (3 car in this case) garage which will be the new master bedroom and bathroom. As construction starts I will post more pictures.

Just a quick update. Pat is doing well, his shoulders are starting to feel a little better and he is getting some of his range of motion back. He should be getting back in to a full rehab schedule shortly.

As I said in my last post I was going to MOT, this past weekend. As always it was a great event but bittersweet for me since Pat was not there. The organizers of this event deserve a great big THANK YOU and once a again a job well done. Thanks to our friends for including Pat in the event.

Here are some pictures OSMC (Ocean State Mini Club) at the summit; Pat and the Troll; Minis on Top; A gift to Pat from the “yellow hats” and I Hope Richard’s wife is not the jealous type!? P.S. Thank you Richard for letting me hitch a ride to the top with you.

Just a quick update, Pat has had a tough week. He has had some issues with his shoulders tightening up making it difficult to do some of his therapies. They have been trying to get his muscles stretched out and relaxed so he can return to his normal routine.

We are also moving ahead with the house renovations and everything seems to be moving along as planned with no major road blocks. Unfortunately, I am not the interior decorator in the family and I’m having a hard time deciding some of the details. Believe it or not but that was always Pat’s job, I prefer the landscaping but what can you do. Hopefully, Pat will like the things I picked out. I have gotten his advice as best I could by bring color samples of tiles and different things with me back and forth to the hospital.

As many of you know Pat and I were both active in our Mini Cooper car club and this coming weekend is the big New England event known as MOT (Minis on Top) this is when about 250 Mini Coopers and over 450 people gather together and and go up Mt. Washington to watch the sunset. Pat has told me, what I should say has ordered me to go and take lots of pictures for him.

What’s New?

Pat has been improving quite a bit, he is slowly getting strength back in his arms and is able to lift and control a 1 pound wrist weight with his right arm. He has been feeding himself multiple meals, which doesn’t sound like much but it is alot of work when you don’t have wrist and hand control. He has been cruising around in a power chair and is having no problems driving (not that we thought he would) and none of the hospital staff has been run over. His spirits have been good he is remaining positive about his therapy and is working toward some goals that he has set for himself.

I have been busy redesigning the house so that it is accessible for Pat when he returns home. We are hoping he’ll be home in August but I’m not sure the house will be ready (so keep your fingers crossed). As we start moving along I will be posting pictures of the renovations because it will be quite a change from the existing plan. I am very excited about the new design and just want to get it moving.

Pat and I would like to thank everyone again for your thoughts, prayers and donations. The pasta dinner was a great day for Pat and he was thrilled to get out of the hospital for the day. Here are links to some pictures for those of you who may have missed them since the website was down. My Pics; GBMINI webblog and Hwy61 OSMC gallery
